Steps for uploading text and photographs to your blog.

Logging in and Inserting Text:

  1. Go to the YHS student blog page, (Houston Art Blog) click on your name, and log in with your user name and password.
  2. Once you are logged in, your dashboard appears.
  3. Choose write a post.
  4. Create a title that will accurately describe what your post is about.
  5. Copy and paste your text from your word processing document (remember your work is public you want to look and sound intelligent so I recommend you type your responses in a word document first.)

Inserting Pictures:
  1. Follow the instructions for Exporting images in correct format.
  2. Click "Write" in the upper left corner of your screen. This allows you write a post.
  3. Next to "add media" click the first icon. This allows you to upload your images.
  4. Click "Browse" and find the photo you want to insert in your post (it should be saved on your computer).
  5. Click "upload". Depending on your teacher's directions, choose whether the picture will be the size of a thumbnail, medium, or full size photo. MOST OF THE TIME YOU WILL USE MEDIUM IMAGE.
  6. Click the button, "insert into post".
  7. Please be sure you have titled the post. Ask teacher for title.
  8. When you are finished inserting your pictures and have made sure your text is correct, click the button at the right of your screen, titled, "Publish". This will make your work "live" on your blog.
  9. If you do not have time to complete your post, please be sure your click the save button. This will save a draft of your work and you can edit and finish at a later time.
